The beginning was kind of slow for me; I think it was the uniquely spelled words that slowed me down a little, but after the first couple of pages it quickly picked up.

This story takes place sometime in the future and is set on a planet called Loka, which closely resembles Earth. Kayla and her best friend, Mishalla, are GENs, Genetically Engineered Non-humans, GENs are not born but made. They are the lowest class in the social system. With trueborns being the highest and the lowborns  being the middle of the system. What’s the purpose of GENs? To serve as slaves to the trueborns.

When Kayla turns fifteen she is assigned as a caregiver to a trueborn elderly man, while Mishalla is assigned to taking care of orphan lawborn children. When the lowborn children start to disappear; she  puts her life at risk to find out what’s happening to them.

Tankborn is a great dystopian novel that any science fiction fan would love, it was fast paced and has a lot of twist and turns in it that I didn’t see coming. I would like to purchases the book just so I can re-read it sometime.

Review: 

 I know a lot of people don’t care for love traingles, but I’m a fan of them! I really enjoyed this book.

Brenna Blixen has spent freshman year in Denmark and has returned to the states for Sophomore year. Brenna is a strong, fun main character that doesn't let anyone push her around, especially not Saxon. She has a great relationship with her mother, which is different than a lot of YA books I've read, the parents are not always there or are out of the picture.

The first day of school she meets two very different, very hot guys, the “bad boy” Saxon Maclean and the “nice guy” Jake Kelly. Saxon is dangerous and mysterious. Jake is sweet and kind. Jake is smart while Saxon don't really care about school, or anything really for that matter. I’m team Saxon.

The more Brenna gets to know the guys the more feelings she gets for them. Brenna finds out that while they used to be best of friends now they can’t stand each other.What happened between them to make them hate each other? 

Thank you Ms. Reinhardt, what a great book. I'm honored to have read you'r book. The only question I have is when is the next book coming out?

I actually crashed into him. He caught me around the waist, and I stood in his arms for a few seconds, until my head cleared and I backed away, breaking the circle we made together.
