Only I saw Narian for who he truly was: a young man with courage and an independent mind, and made to pay for what was outside his control. He couldn't help his past any more than he could help the way those intense, deep-blue eyes pierced me and held me captive.

An eighteen-year-old queen in love with the enemy as their countries pass the point of no return...

Bound to a man she cannot love, Queen Alera of Hytanica must forget Narian, the young man who holds her heart. For Narian is destined to conquer Hytanica at the behest of his master, the powerful magic-user known as the Overlord. Alera doesn't truly believe Narian will fight against Hytanica-until Cokyrian troops attack with Narian commanding the charge.

Faced with the greatest betrayal a heart can know, Alera must set aside personal feelings and lead her kingdom through its darkest time. And when all hope, will and courage seem lost, she must find strength and remember that even the blackest night must have a dawn....

Review:
A huge thank you to Harlequin Teen and NetGalley for the eCopy to review.

I was excited to start this book. It starts off where the first one left off, after the marriage of Alera and Steldor.

I think Alera matures a lot, in the beginning of the book she acted childish, but as the story moved on her maturity did was well.

In Legacy I did not like Stedlor at all, but he has changed into a completely different person. He still is as hotheaded as before, but the difference in him is a 180 in this book. I didn't know that Steldor actually has a heart beneath his pride, my feelings for him has changed. Although I'm still Team Narian!

Narian didn't appear in the book until the middle, I was confused about him and his intentions. Was he a threat to Alera and her kingdom? He was after all a Cokyrian.

Just like in the first book, I loved London! He was brave, and cared for others. I loved to learn about his past.

It was an amazing book. It takes you all over. I think it was kind of slow about half of the way in, I still love the series. It has everything, Historical fiction, fantasy, royalty and of course a love triangle! And what's better than a queen in love the enemy? I am eagerly awaiting book three, Sacrifice!
